Old Lions Cricket Club

Founder • Chairperson (4 Years) • Sports Administrator

I helped found the Old Lions Cricket Club in October 2021 and served as it’s first chairperson with the goal of creating a structured, community‑driven cricket environment in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs. What started with a handful of senior and junior teams has grown into a fully affiliated club recognised by Central Gauteng Lions Cricket, competing across official CGL leagues and tournaments.

As chairperson, I’ve helped build systems that prioritise governance, development, sustainability, and competitive growth. Today, the club runs a full pathway from juniors through seniors to veterans, supported by year‑round programming including league cricket, the Jozi Cup, and winter tournaments.

During my tenure, the club has grown to over 200 players, established a strong reputation for rapid growth, and earned recognition across the Lions Cricket network as one of its fastest‑growing community clubs. We’ve achieved success across senior, junior, and veterans cricket — including league promotions, tournament wins, and age‑group trophies — all built on strong structures and a clear strategic vision.

Sports Administration & Consulting Services

My sports administration and consulting experience extends beyond club leadership and into broader cricket structures. I founded the Old Lions Cricket Club in October 2021 and developed it into a fully affiliated, multi‑team organisation within the Central Gauteng Lions Cricket system.
Managing a club that spans juniors, seniors, and veterans — supported by full league participation, Jozi Cup involvement, and winter tournaments — has given me hands‑on understanding of long‑term athlete pathways, competition structures, and sustainable operational planning.
Alongside my club responsibilities, I’ve also contributed within Lions Cricket junior steering structures (experience‑based) and developed a strong working knowledge of elite performance pathways through both administrative and athlete‑focused environments. These combined experiences have equipped me with a deep, practical understanding of governance, development models, community growth, and high‑performance progression — expertise I now apply in assisting clubs, schools, and organisations to strengthen their sporting systems.
